Mr Mark Ferguson recently returned from the 48th Annual Meeting of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS), held at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre from 24–27 September 2025. As both a member of the Academy and a serving member of its Membership Committee, Mr Ferguson played an active role in this prestigious international gathering of leading facial plastic surgeons.

This year’s congress focused on the evolving landscape of aesthetic medicine and facial plastic surgery, with sessions dedicated to rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation, blepharoplasty, otorhinolaryngology and reconstructive techniques. Mr Ferguson contributed two expert talks on rhinoplasty — one exploring patient selection and the other addressing how to avoid complications. He also chaired a specialist session on “Grafts in Rhinoplasty,” facilitating discussion on surgical techniques and outcomes.

The meeting brought together global leaders in facial aesthetics to share research, refine techniques, and challenge outdated practices. Mr Ferguson’s participation underscores his commitment to continued professional development in a field that is constantly innovating. From advanced grafting methods to nuanced patient care, staying abreast of international research is essential—not only for achieving optimal results but also for ensuring patient safety.

As Mr Ferguson notes, “The best cosmetic surgeons are those who never stop learning. Our field evolves rapidly, and it’s our responsibility to remain at the forefront—embracing innovation while critically evaluating risks and legacy techniques.”
