About

Mr Mark Ferguson PhD FRCS (ORL-HNS)

Consultant Rhinologist, Facial Plastic and Anterior Skull Base Surgeon
London’s leading cosmetic and functional Rhinologist

In his private practice, Mark specialises in rhinology and is renowned for his expertise in both cosmetic and functional nasal surgery. He carries out hundreds of rhinoplasty procedures each year.

His unique background as a Consultant ENT Surgeon, Facial Plastic Surgeon, and Rhinologist equips Mark with an unmatched understanding of the structural and functional dynamics of the nose and airway. This is particularly important in cosmetic cases, where appearance must never come at the expense of nasal health or function. Mr Ferguson is a strong advocate for an approach that balances aesthetics with long-term structural integrity, function and airflow.

His cosmetic rhinoplasty philosophy is subtle, refined, and deeply personalised. Mark believes great rhinoplasty should be imperceptible—a nose that looks entirely natural and harmonious, as though the patient was born with it. His focus is on enhancing confidence and restoring balance, not creating a single standard of beauty.

Driving ENT excellence in the NHS and beyond

Mark is one of the country’s leading ENT consultants. He is Head of the ENT Department at the world-leading Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and co-founder of the Imperial Facial Reconstruction Unit. He also serves as the ENT lead for North West London under the national “Getting It Right First Time” (GIRFT) programme.

A highly respected figure in his field, Mark is a member of the pan-London Clinical Leadership Group for ENT and acts as an expert witness to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). He also serves on the membership committee of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS) and is a frequent international speaker in facial plastic surgery.

Mark is widely regarded as one of the UK’s leading authorities on functional rhinology and Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD), offering specialist care for patients with chronic nasal obstruction, sinus disease, and middle ear pressure disorders.

Mark completed his medical and ENT training in London, and was awarded the Royal College of Surgeons’ prestigious post-CCT Fellowship in Rhinology at Imperial. He also holds a PhD in Molecular Oncology from Barts Cancer Institute and remains actively engaged in translational and clinical research. His academic contributions include over 30 peer-reviewed publications, numerous national and international presentations and several prizes for his research and surgical innovation.
